My name is Carla Nolen & this is my 10th year teaching at Schorlemmer-7 years in 2nd grade and this is my 3rd year as a 5th grade RLA teacher. I substitute taught at Schorlemmer from 2010-2012, including serving as the full-time interim guidance counselor for the 2010-2011 school year. I graduated from the University of Houston-Victoria with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology & a minor in Criminal Justice. I also graduated from Paralegal Certification School with the highest honors.  I married my husband, Kyle, in April 2005. We have 3 kids– Jayden who is going to college for Computer Science, Carter who is in college and seeking a Chiropractor degree & Harper who is in 5th grade here at Schorlemmer.

In my spare time, I love to watch sporting events including my kids’ sports games and the NFL (This is the year for us Cowboys fans!). I played soccer for more than 25 years & am a certified soccer coach with the South Texas Youth Soccer Organization. I am the commissioner of an all-women’s fantasy football league for 15 years now! I also enjoy gardening, cooking, swimming, traveling and hanging out/playing games with friends & family.
